Olivar de la Luna is a very fruity oil with hints of olive, notes of other fruits like apples and almonds, and nuances of freshly cut grass. In the mouth it is long, soft and sweet, leaving a slightly bitter taste on the palate representative of the fruit it comes from, an indicator of its stability, wealth of polyphenols and antioxidants, and high vitamin E content.

Production

At the "Almazara"

After harvesting the olives, the oil is extracted by grinding the fruit in a home oil press for a few hours at room temperature. The result is a pure oil “en rama” that retains all of its organoleptic characteristics.

Antioxidant properties

Olive oil contains polyphenols, which inhibit the cellular oxidation that produces aging and the appearance of tumours. Moreover, it can act against some types of cancer like colon and breast cancer, although this has not been proven scientifically. The oil with the highest level of polyphenols is extra virgin olive oil.

Cardiac protector

Olive oil decreases blood pressure, lowers bad (LDL) and raises good (HDL) cholesterol, and impedes hardening of the arteries by preventing the oxidization of LDL cholesterol and disabling its ability to cause atherosclerosis. In short, it reduces the risk of cardiovascular illnesses like heart attacks and cerebral thrombosis.

Prevents cognitive deterioration

Olive oil protects the brain from deterioration, delaying premature aging. It helps to maintain cognitive capacities, memory and intellect, which are often lost with age. While this has not been proven, it is believed that olive oil can prevent neurodegenerative disorders like Alzheimer’s disease.

Good for the digestive system

Olive oil improves pancreatic, digestive and intestinal functions. It also stimulates biliary production, inhibits the absorption of cholesterol in the intestine, lowers the amount of insulin needed by diabetics, and improves the intestinal absorption of mineral salts.

Improves bone mineralization

This reduces the risk of osteoporosis and fractures due to aging.

Good for the skin

Since antiquity, olive oil has been used as a cosmetic due to its skin hydrating properties. Consuming the oil also improves the structure of the epidermis and delays skin aging from inside the organism.

Packaging & Labeling

We use new technologies in the packaging process, and our labels are individually made by hand and unique to each container, since the particular nature of our formats does not lend itself to mechanization.

Labeling

To introduce our oil to the market, we opted for an image in keeping with the intrinsic quality of the product, choosing a distinctive format and colour for the various identifying features. Blue is not a colour commonly found in the agro-food sector and it is also reminiscent of those full moon nights in the olive grove.
